This session is presented by Angie Chisholm, DNP, CNM; Anna Chamberlain, RN; and Julie Bowers-Pryor, MA, MSSW, LCADC-CCS, LCSW.
This continuing education session explores an innovative, interdisciplinary approach to postpartum care for patients affected by substance use disorder. Substance use disorders (SUD) are a leading cause of pregnancy-associated deaths, with most deaths occurring during the 12 months after pregnancy. There is a growing call to create innovative care models to address this crisis. Participants will gain insight into how specialized care addresses the unique medical, psychological, and social challenges faced by new mothers with a history of substance use.
