Through this story-telling focused session hear a firsthand account of how a nurse-midwife had to carve out a niche to find her place. Examples will be shared of how expanding services (i.e. transgender hormone therapy) may be one strategy. By hearing examples and experiences, hopefully you will be inspired to carve out your own place.

Bethany Cook
Bethany Cook, RN, MS, WHNP-BC, CNM, RNFA graduated from Texas Woman’s University with both
a bachelor’s and a master’s degrees in nursing. She earned her certification as a Woman’s Heal thcare NursePractitioner from UT Southwestern and post-master’s certification as a Nurse Midwife from Frontier Nursing University.
Bethany grew up in rural East Texas and practiced there for over 10 years. She currently lives in Oklahoma City where she and her husband work for Planned Parenthood Great Plains.
